The mood was somewhat jovial as the Grove City Council met in public session Tuesday evening, with new City Manager Bill Keefer sitting at the management table that has been vacant for months, since the departure of former city manager Bruce Johnson. Council http://vimeo.com/67766055 members had fun with city attorney Brandon Watkins, teasing him that Keefer’s nameplate has his name on it after being here 2 days; City Attorney Watkins nameplate says “City Attorney” no name.

It was a light agenda, with many housekeeping items.

After approving the minutes, the council unamionsley approved $39,931 for the last 2 weeks of expenses. Attached is pdf of those expenses for review. City of Grove Purchases May 30, 13

Two former trustees were re-elected to terms on the Grove Municipal Services Authority, former councilman Berwin Kock, and Ward Miller, both of Grove. Mr. Robert Plunk applied for the seat, but council staff advised he did not live in the City of Grove. Most all city boards have local residence a requirement, except the Zoning appeals board, which has no requirements regarding residency.

The council approves staff requests for bids for Gasoline, diesel, limestone base rock and Asphalt materials.

The Council entered a loan agreement with Grove Municipal Airport (see pdf) Grove Airrport Lease Agreement

Several Grove citizens appeared to register complaints with the council regarding open fires, and mandatory grass cuttings. An elderly lady has high natural grasses in her yard that the city has demanded be cut. Another citizen registers her concern about open and unattended fires in her neighborhood.
