Thrift Shop volunteers - May 2014It is a reason for celebration, and the volunteers of the Second Chance Thrift Shop celebrated its third year anniversary on May 12th.  The Second Chance Thrift Shop volunteers gathered at Har-Ber Village Welcome Center for a catered dinner by American Grill.  There were lots of congratulations for the dedication and the time that these volunteers give of themselves to staff the downtown shop to raise money for the homeless dogs and cats that are cared for by the Humane Society of Grove and Grand Lake.

The Second Chance Thrift Shop is one of the main sources of support for the Grove Humane Society.  All of the volunteers work hard to make the shopping experience fun and rewarding.  There is background music played throughout the shop; beautifully presented merchandise; and best of all, there are bargains galore.  There are wonderful items to sell provided by the most generous animal lovers in the world.  You can find everything from a blouse or shirt all the way up to a beautiful vintage antique furniture.  Even homemade dog biscuits are available lovingly baked by one of the Thrift Shop volunteers.

The Second Chance Thrift Shop is located on the corner of 3rd and Grand Streets in downtown Grove.  The staff loves to decorate for the holidays with vignettes changing colors with the Seasons.  You will find beautiful pastels in the spring and gorgeous golds in the fall.  The merchandise changes constantly with wonderful donations coming in all the time, and there will be something in the shop for everyone!  Make visiting this shop a “Must See” for your downtown Grove shopping experience for great bargains and all for a great cause.

The Second Chance Thrift Shop offers many discounts and special buys on its Facebook page – Second Chance Thrift Shop Grove OK, so follow them to find the bargains.  The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.  And your donation of new or gently used, quality merchandise for resale is always needed.  Donated merchandise can be accepted at the downtown location during operating hours or at the after hour donation box conveniently located next to the Humane Society shelter on Highway 10.  If there are many household items or large pieces of furniture to donate, contact the Thrift Shop at 918-786-9330 to make pick up arrangements.  All donations are tax deductible.

Congratulations to the Second Chance Thrift Shop on its 3rd Year Anniversary.
