Find your car’s shine at Second Chance Pet Rescue animal shelter on Saturday, June 20, from 10 am to 2 pm. Shelter employees and volunteers will be in the animal shelter’s parking lot located at 64301 E. 290 Road (2 miles east of downtown Grove on Highway 10) ready with buckets and soapy water to clean your car, truck or whatever you bring to the charity car wash.
The shelter’s expansion project is coming along but new modular stainless steel kennel cage banks, such as the one pictured, are desperately needed in the new isolation rooms which have been completed to house newly surrendered intake and sick animals. The current modular kennels are many years old with bottoms and sides corroded from harsh cleaning solutions and with broken latches and hinges. The proceeds from this car wash as well as any generous donation from the public will be used to purchase new stainless steel cages for the isolation rooms.
Won’t you help our non-profit, life saving animal rescue organization on Saturday, June 20, by bringing your vehicle to Second Chance Pet Rescue’s Car Wash Benefit. While there, you can check out the progress of the Shelter Expansion Project. The 2,500 square foot addition when completed will include 18 new indoor/outdoor canine runs, 3 isolation/intake rooms, larger feline housing, on-site food pantry/storage, and new laundry and dog bathing areas.
Our Capital Campaign for Phase I of this shelter expansion is needing about $65,000 to reach our final goal. Generous donations from our supporters would be greatly appreciated. Our shelter has some amazing dogs/puppies and beautiful cats/kittens that are available for adoption. Our pets are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, veterinarian health checked, and microchipped for a very low adoption fee. Hours are Wednesday through Friday Noon to 5 pm, and Saturday 10 am to 3 pm. After hour appointments can be made by calling the shelter.
