Disney, Okla., Picture in Scripture Amphitheater, located in the hills above Grand Lake about four miles east of Disney, is announcing that it will offer a special short season of its popular play, “The Elijah Factor.” The play runs every Friday and Saturday night from July 17 through August 1, for a total of six shows, according to director and co-founder Linda Goldner.

“We have received calls and emails daily from those hoping we would offer one of our shows this summer,” said Goldner. “You asked, and we listened.

Elija“Our emphasis this year has been to expand what we offer with the addition of our new Oasis Animal Adventures, concerts and the development of new events. Now we are including the six special shows of “The Elijah Factor.”

The compelling story holds audiences spellbound with its spectacular special effects, state-of-the-art sound, pyrotechnics, a live cast of 60, and animals, including Samuel and Simon.

Celebrating its 28th season, the amphitheater is best known for its award-winning, spectacular production of “The Man Who Ran.” As the recipient of the Governor’s Tourism Merit Award for “Outstanding Attraction, Goldner said she hopes to retain that title as she and her co-founder husband  continue to present powerful biblical dramas in the Grand Lake area.

“More than 100,000 visitors from all 50 states and 118 foreign countries have attended our productions,” Goldner said. Prior to the show, dinner is available at the Pavilion, adjacent to the amphitheater. Char-broiled hamburgers, grilled chicken, barbecue and the best catfish on Grand Lake are menu choices along with light concessions.
