GROVE, OK (Feb. 28, 2014) – An INTEGRIS Grove Hospital nurse was honored as one of five finalists for the Oklahoma March of Dimes Women’s Health Nurse of the Year.
Logan Thronebury, RN, of Afton, Okla., was recognized at a special gala held in Oklahoma City. March of Dimes, the leading non-profit organization for maternal and infant health, has awarded the distinction for the last four years to nurses in 15 specialized fields. This year, more than 400 nominations were submitted.
“Logan is an extremely talented nurse,” said Brandi Stewart, RN, B.S.N., clinical director of the INTEGRIS Grove women’s health unit.
“She provides excellent patient care and goes above and beyond her job duties. Logan is always willing to help with projects in the department, and she has had an important role in the development of our Childbirth Classes program. We were proud to nominate her for this award as an outstanding nurse in the area of women’s health at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital.”
Thronebury’s career at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital began in 2010; first, as a nurse extern in medical/surgery, and then in women’s health. She heads the Vaccines for Children program and the Childbirth Classes program, and is currently obtaining her B.S.N. degree.
INTEGRIS Grove boasts a full service women’s health department. The qualified nursing staff is trained in intermediate and advanced fetal monitoring and holds certifications in both the perinatal continuing education program and the breastfeeding continuing education program. The INTEGRIS Grove Hospital women’s health department is also an active participant in Oklahoma’s Every Week Counts program, and the CMS Early Elective Delivery program designed to decrease the number of early elective deliveries without medical indication.
