Each year on one special night, the finest vintners and premier restaurants from around Grand Lake gather for an evening of tantalizing flavors. Taste of Grand, the premier food and wine tasting event, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at 900 E. 13th Street in Grove. A fundraiser for the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Foundation, Taste of Grand offers a delicious array of area cuisine as well as an excellent selection of wine and spirits.
“Each year we have more people not only attending Taste of Grand but even planning their trips to Grand Lake to enjoy the evening,” said Kristi Wallace, event chairman. “While our guests enjoy the finest cuisine and drinks, they are also helping a number of local people who are assisted each year by the Foundation.”
The funds raised will help ease some of Grand Lake residents’ financial burdens and provide funding for local programs. Some examples of programs include the Townsend Children’s Fund, People in Need fund, Defibrillator Campaign, Camp Bandage and the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.
The Wes Hart Band of northwest Arkansas will provide the live music for the evening. The popular band was a hit with last year’s Taste of Grand crowd, and they are eager to play their array of past and current hits.
Area restaurants and caterers vie for an array of awards including Supreme Cuisine and the coveted People’s Choice Award, which is awarded to the participant with the highest votes from the crowd.
Another popular attraction of event is the raffle. This year the public can purchase a $5 raffle ticket or five tickets for $20 for a chance to win a side of beef from Woody Crest Farms, 50 pounds of chicken from Simmons Foods and a deep freezer. Raffle tickets can be purchased at area banks.
Taste of Grand tickets are $80 and can be purchased by calling Wallace at 918-399-4392. All proceeds go to the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit organization that funds continuing advancements in local health care and medical treatments for those in need.
