The Grand River Dam Authority will be one of the Sponsors of the 30th Annual Pelican Festival September 27-28th at the Civic Center in Grove.
“We are excited GRDA is sponsoring this event and it should be a great Festival for the whole family,” said Tad Jones, Executive Director of the Grand Lake Association.
There will be a new Carnival in town, which will open Wednesday the 25th – Saturday the 28th. The Carnival will be open 6pm-10pm Wednesday – Friday and session wristband tickets on Wednesday will be $15 and Thursday and Friday wristbands will be $20. Saturday, the Carnival will have two sessions, Noon-5pm and 6pm-10pm with $20 wristband tickets for each session.
The Carnival will also host “the Fearless Flores Thrill Show” and their motorcycle Globe of Death. They will do two shows each session.
The Arts and Crafts Show will be held inside the Civic Center and there will be dozens of vendors on display. “The arts and crafts vendors that come to the festival are extremely talented and they have a great selection of items for visitors to shop through,” said Jones.
Santa’s Old Broads will also be providing food at the civic center and they will be cooking breakfast until 11am and provide food all day long on Friday and Saturday.
The Oklahoma Kid will be the featured entertainment for the event, performing two trick roping shows at 12:30pm and 3:30pm on Saturday. He has traveled around the country doing his show and he will bring a lot of excitement to the event and will be interactive for the whole family.
There will be lots of local entertainment throughout the weekend and Grove’s Grand Talent Contest Winners will be performing on Saturday at 6pm.
The Annual Parade will be big this year with the addition of a golf cart contest for best-designed golf cart. After the parade the carts will be on display at the Civic Center and people will be encouraged to vote on their favorite golf cart.
There will be area bands in the parade and the NEO Norseman band will be performing. This year’s special recognition for the parade will be the community Volunteers with the Grove Rotary Club being the Grand Marshall of the parade.
Har-Ber Village will also offer Free Admission on Saturday and the Cherokee Queen will be offering a special Pelican Tour on Saturday at 1PM for $10.
